Electronic Parts

Electronics parts are the basic electronic elements that make up electronic equipments. Electronic parts are packaged together in a discrete form with two or more connecting leads or metallic pads. These parts are connected together on a circuit board to create an electronic circuit that has a specific function to perform. They are usually enclosed in a synthetic resin for the purpose of mechanical stability, better insulation properties and for protection from environmental influences.

They are called passive if they do not have any gain or directionality and are active if they have a gain and directionality.

The parts used for making electrical connections are called terminals and connectors. Cords are the cables that facilitate a connection between electrical equipments as they have connectors or terminals at their ends. Switches are the parts that are manufactured to either conduct an electric charge or current. If the switch is open, an electric current passes through the electrical connection and if the switch is closed, an electric charge does not flow. Resistors are the parts that resist current.

Protection devices are important parts as they protect circuits from excessive currents and voltages. A fuse and circuit breaker are the most commonly used protection devices. Capacitors are those components that store electric charges and are used for the purpose of filtration in electrical devices. Other important and the most commonly used parts are transistors and integrated circuits.

The production of these parts has increased because the use of electronic devices all across the world has increased.
